PHOTON is a project funded by the European Union’s EUROSTAR program and Innovationsfonden (Innovation Fund Denmark).

The project is coordinated by the Spanish company TEWER. The project group consists of five partners across Europe. The purpose of the project is to develop a new, more efficient, and manageable solar thermal tower plant model to reduce costs for construction, maintenance,  and energy production. To learn more, please visit the PHOTON website.

Aalborg CSP’s scope

Aalborg CSP’s scope in the project concerns the development, design and optimization of the thermal solar power tower heat transfer section - the Molten Salt Receiver (MSR). The project presents cases of 50MWe and 100 MWe tower plants for both symmetric and asymmetric receivers. Aalborg CSP is responsible for producing the technical specifications and 3D models of both receiver sizes.
