Aalborg CSP received the order to design and deliver a 11,000 m2 insulating lid for a 70,000 m3 Pit Thermal Energy Storage system in Høje Taastrup, Denmark. In April 2020, a new lid solution was installed on a 70,000 m3 Pit Thermal Energy Storage (PTES) at Marstal district heating plant. The lid is of a new design, which prevents moisture accumulation and enables easier dewatering of the surface ensuring lower heat loss and contributing to higher efficiency and reliability of the complete energy system.

15,000 m³ PTES for district heating, Tibet

In Langkazi in the southern part of Tibet, a 15,000 m3 Pit Thermal Energy Storage (PTES) system enables storing of excess solar heat supplying the city with both stable and sustainable heating. By storing excess solar heat produced during summer and releasing it during wintertime, solar heat is able to cover more than 90% of the city’s annual heating needs.
