Aalborg CSP’s Integrated Energy Systems (IES) department focuses on developing innovative, commercial solutions for various industries worldwide and has in this respect carried out a techno-economical feasibility study for an Egyptian client.

The purpose of the study was to investigate and determine the feasibility of integrating Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) with molten-salt thermal energy storage for electricity generation and water desalination on different locations in Egypt.

Aalborg CSP’s scope

Aalborg CSP was responsible for the integration of the solar technologies within the study project. Additionally, Aalborg CSP provided support in the development of simulation models of virtual demos – mainly those related to the integration of solar energy, the power block, and the desalination block.
