The Earth's demand for energy increases but the supply of fossil fuels shrinks. The concentrated solar power (CSP) technology replaces the energy derived from fossil fuels with energy generated from the sun, a free and abundant fuel. The CSP technology can be used to sustainably satisfy demand for electricity, heating and process steam production, cooling and desalination.

With the great expertise and global leadership gained in CSP power plant projects, Aalborg CSP has earned a position at the forefront of bringing clean, reliable and cost-effective thermal energy to the industrial market segments. Aalborg CSP designs, constructs and commissions industrial solar technologies that can rely on two different type of designs depending on the individual energy requirements of each customer:

Parabolic trough technology suited for:

  • Hot water generation (incl district heating) up to 160°C
  • Saturated steam up to 35 bar / 242°C

Solar tower technology suited for:

  • Saturated steam up to 65 bar / 280°C
  • Superheated steam up to 110 bar / 540°C

The industrial CSP application is an add-on to an existing energy source and can be applied to a series of applications all essential for a wide spread of industries.

Renewable = savings

The sun is a free and abundant fuel. Utilizing the sun's energy not only means thousands of tons emission reduction per year but it also has the advantage to reach lowest production prices compared to other systems that rely on fossil fuels. The Aalborg CSP industrial solar technologies rely on the CSP technology that is able to exploit annual solar radiation more efficiently than any other technologies. It therefore provides a stable energy source and fixes energy production prices at a surprisingly low level.

Danish loan guarantee

Financing is an increasingly critical factor as local banks require some degree of security pledge.

As a Danish company, Aalborg CSP has the advantage of arranging a loan guarantee through a Danish state owned export credit agency, the EKF. EKF raises financing and insures banks and companies ordering from Danish suppliers against the potential financial and political risks of trading with other countries.

Did you know...

that the first CSP plant for agricultural purposes was built in 1912 in Meadi, Egypt and it provided 6000 gallons of fresh water per minute for growing fresh vegetables in the desert?
